Soon, you can use your ePayments card for free
Our special financial partner, ePayments is going to reform its ePayments Prepaid Mastercard® card fees in a very favorable way from June 1, 2017. The card maintenance fee can easily cost USD 0 - yes, that's right, zero - to you (if you have a euro card, it is EUR 0). We have summarized the details for you:
ePayments is canceling the annual bank card fee of USD 35 (EUR 29).
At the same time, it is introducing a monthly fee of USD 2.9 (EUR 2.4).
With this move, we are practically where we were earlier but the difference is that the card fee has to be paid monthly and not in one installment (12 x 2.9 = USD 34,8, instead of USD 35) to ePayments. But here comes the point.
In case your purchases made with your bank card (so cash withdrawal does not count) reach a total of USD or EUR 300 in a month, then, your monthly fee is going to be USD 0, that is, zero (EUR 0), the next month.
For instance, if you spend USD 307 using your bank card in August, your fee is going to be USD 0 (EUR 0) in September.
The first card application fee is USD 5.95 (EUR 4.95). This has to be paid only once, at the first application. So even when your card expires, you will not have to pay a cent, ePayments will send you a new one, free of charge.
In the first two months, the card fee is USD 0 (EUR 0), so the first two months are free or, we can say, their fee is also included in the first card application fee.
It means, for instance, that in case your purchases made using your bank card reach USD 300 (EUR 300) in the second month, the fee for the third month is also USD 0 (EUR 0) for you.
At the same time, lost/stolen cards will also be replaced against a fee of USD 5.95 (EUR 4.95) instead of the earlier fee of USD 35 (EUR 29).
It is just the icing on the cake that currently the express shipping of the new bank card costs USD 45 instead of the regular USD 89.95.
The important points in a nutshell: no more annual card fees, monthly card fee can be as low as zero, one-time card application costs USD 5.95, and so does the card replacement. There are no other modifications concerning the fees of ePayments and the card is still Fireflies Mastercard.
If you have already settled the annual fee, the new fees will become effective for you only after the expiration of the annual fee.
